Turn Signal and Brakes?
Ok, I do Know a little bit about cars but wiring is beyond me I've checked the fuse and the lights themselves but cant figure it out. The right turn signal comes on when i hit the brakes but doesnt blink. So when i try to use the turn signal and have the brakes on, it doesnt work. Now this is on and off, some days it works others it wont....Im assuming its bare wires rubbing, but i dont even know where to look. Thanks for the help!

You would have to follow the wires from the taillight all the way back to find where it is at

I hear ya on that one. I don't know where you are but here in Florida it's hard to do anything in the middle of the day. x2 on what STL said.

I believe I may have the exact same problem:
With the right hand turn lever on, the exterior light only flashes if I'm not braking; whenever I brake, flashing is suspended. Also, the dash light for the right hand turn signal goes on whenever I touch the brake.
All of the fuses in the cab check out. Any tips on what to check first, and where to find it?
Thanks.

Check the underhood ground wires bolted down on the passenger side inner fender near the windshield washer reservoir and on the driver side inner fender about halfway back. Could be loose, corroded or broken.
Inspect the dual bulb filaments of the brake/tail lights and front turn signals to see if they are broken and shorting internally.

Re: Turn Signal and Brakes?
My signal lights, hazard lights and brake lights are not working. If I put my foot on the brake and manually click the hazard buttton up and down they will flash on and off but if I leave the hazard button in the on position they won't flash and the signal lights won't work at all. Any suggestions??

Re: Turn Signal and Brakes?
Well that's interesting. Before we can do anything, you need to tell us the year and model. And also, if you have the combined all red brake/tail/turn lights or the ones with amber turn signals.

For the others it sounds like a short somewhere. For spanny it might be the multi function switch. Assuming all the fuses and relays check out.

Maybe, you got a bad one, or a short somewhere. I wonder why people are having issues with switches and bulbs lately. There seem to be a handful of individuals with these problems.

Re: Turn Signal and Brakes?
I'd say to check the brake switch, LittlexMissxMazda.
Depending on the year, it could be the same problem I've got--my brake switch is going bad, in terms of allowing the turn signals to work.
An easy way to diagnose this is to disconnect your brake switch (it's mounted on the brake pedal arm--the metal that the pedal itself is attached to). The switch itself is mounted on the left side of the arm. Once you pull the electrical connector out of the switch, use a jumper wire to connect the circuit.
If you have the circuit on and your turn signals work properly, then it is the brake switch.
Ironically, I found this out when I went to ground test my turn signals a few days ago.

Re: Turn Signal and Brakes?
I had the exact same problem today. My passenger side turn signal would come on steady anytime I pressed the brake. I couldn't find a solid solution online so I pulled my rear brake lights, front turn signals, and checked all my grounds/fuses. Nothing worked. Not untill I started following the rear taillight wires. The two rear taillights are connected to each other and my truck had a harness in the middle im guessing for trailer brakes. I disconnected the harness and removed it. Then I connected the two plugs to each other. Problem solved. The harness was located right under the rear bumper by the spare tire. I never haul a trailer so i dont need it.
