Default Color Code for 1999 Reverse Lights and Low-beams?

Using This ---> http://www.fordrangerforum.com/exter...ht-wiring.html

I'm going to wire in the dual circuit mode (on/off/auto)

Anyone know what the color coding for a 1999 is so that I can tap into the: 1: back-up lights, 2. Low-beams?

I've mounted fog lights and backup lights, I just need to know where to run 'em.

Also, Anyone have pics or ideas of where to mount my relays?

Thanks!

Thanks Bob! I'll start work on that tonight! Any suggestions on where to put the relays?

I like to keep relays in the interior when possible. I seems like I have them tucked into every open space under the dash.

Nice. Well, we'll have to see what I do with mine. Perhaps I'll throw them inside too! Thanks for your help!

Anyone have tips for FINDING those wires? Should I connect to them inside the cab or near the distro? I ran the 10ga wire for the positive lead today and looked for these wires... but I need some tips on the best place to access them. Thanks!

The reverse wire starts from the Transmission Range Sensor (automatic) or the Reverse Light Switch (manual), then runs forward though the engine harness and then back through the large firewall bulkhead connectors near the ebrake pedal then to a large connector somewhere near the left end of the dash. If you need a connection in the interior, you should be able to get it near the ebrake pedal. Be sure to test the wire as there may be more than one BK/PK in that large wire bundle.

The headlight wires are obviously available right at the individual headlights. If you need access to the individual left and/or right low beam wires in the interior, they are fed from fuses 4 and 8 of the dash fuse panel. From the fuse panel, they run forward through the firewall bulkhead connectors into the engine compartment. So, they are in that same large bundle of wires near the ebrake where the reverse wire is.

Yet again, thanks Bob.

I was indeed looking for interior connections. Do you would you recommend a quick splice connector or actually cutting the wires and placing and insulated spade connector in there with some heat-shrink?

I was thinking I'll actually cut them to be sure of a good connection, but if that's overkill let me know.

Thanks again.

I often use Scotchloks for low amperage, interior connections but it is important to use the right size for the wires being spliced. I think misusing the connectors is the real reason for their reputation for unreliable connections.

For anything that will be exposed to weather or carry a lot of amps, I like to use a soldered joint protected by dilectric grease and heat shrink tubing.
