Missing Fuses for Power Locks and Mirrors
I just bought a used 2004 Ford Ranger, my third in a row (the first two Rangers got totaled in accidents caused by others). The power door locks don't work quite right and the power mirrors don't work at all. No biggie, but it would be nice to get them in proper operation. Starting to troubleshoot the problems, I looked at the fuse box. Fuses 30 and 35 (power mirrors and power locks) were missing, so I bought replacements. When I tried to put the first in, it was loose. I looked and discovered there was no metal receiving end for the fuse -- apparently these two fuses were not needed. Why is that (they're in ther diagram in the owner's manual) and what to do now to resolve the problems? Hate to take it into a dealer to get fixed.....
Thanks for any info anyone can provide.
