Hello. I have a 2003 ranger 3.0L flex non 4X4. Sometimes while im driving i randomly get this beeping sound that sounds like its coming from behind the dashboard. I get no check engine light or any other lights for the matter. And i know the lights work because i see them do the check when i turn the key to the on position. what could this be?

Are you wearing your seatbelt?

Thats a good one LOL I hope that's not the sound he is talking about.


Is it maybe coming from the speakers?

I get the same thing and yes, I am wearig my seatbelt. I even had my brther hook up his code scanner and nothing. I just replaced all to bulbs in the dash and no lights are lighting up. wtf?

The beeping is the seat belt light on the dash usually. I had this problem. The bulb is burned out. Turn your key to the on position and see if the yellow seat belt light comes on if not that may be your problem.

could also be the airbag system. if the bulb is burnt out, it will beep.

If the airbag system is malfunctioning and the bulb is burnt out it will often beep 3 sets of 3 beeps sounding from behind the dash. My 97's been doing it for awhile now i really should change that bulb but I've been holding off until I figure out how to mod it for some LED's.

yes i do have my seat belt on lol. Well thanks for all the advise guys really appreciate it. After reading all of this i went to my truck and checked all the lights on the cluster and now i realize that the airbag light is not coming on -_-.

Wow..I was looking around and came across this post in the forums...i was like...hey....this guy has the same problem as my truck with the beeping....i opened it..read it...."HEY THIS GUY HAS THE SAME TRUCK AS ME!!" it shortly after reading everything when i was about to comment that i realized it was my thread and then i remembered that i had already figured out the problem lmao.

haha. no. Iv learned to live with it lmao. its not constant so thats why is so easy to live with .it happens like after driving for a while. 3 sessions back to back with 3 beeps each.

sometimes when im with some one in the truck and it starts beeping i pretend its the truck nagging at me for any random reason i could come up with and i start yelling back at it. right around the 3 session of beeps i start telling it to shut up and i pretend im gonna smack the dashboard and then it stops and im like....thought so #%^# and my passenger is looking at me like .WTF lmao

did you replace the light bulb? if not, it only takes about 15 minutes to do.

I was thinking about that.....instead i will just replace all the bulbs and put blue l.e.d.'s....know anything about this? how its done?

i did leds on mine following the how to. it was just for the illumination though, not the idiot lights.
