Default battery drain or alternator?

finally put my truck back together, took out a bunch of wires that werent being used anymore and reran a few grounds, replaced the battery, and ran a ground from the battery to the body right above the headlight. The battery charger said the battery was at 100% but after 20minutes of messing with the lights and radio, I had to jump it to start it. Went to work for 8hrs and it started just fine. When I went home I slept for around 12hrs and when I went out it wouldn't start. It started just fine with a jump. Do you think that sounds like my alt is on it's last leg or something is draining my bat?

nothing is visibly on when my truck is off except my alarm. It's a 95 ranger 4.0. And the battery gauge says the battery is normal when my truck is running...the battery is a optima (iirc) red top battery that was just fine in my friend's mustang.

Well, I don't think anything is wrong with the battery because; you said it was fine when you went to work and came back home. I would look at the alternator, maybe you wired something wrong?

after talking to my buddy, he is convinced the battery is the problem. So he said he can get me a brand new bat and if that one drains, then we can go back to the wiring again. Thanks tlogan...gonna unhook the neg battery cable before we go get another battery, to make sure it's not the alt.
