Default Fog Light wiring

OK, I know fog light issues have been covered a million times already, but not my specific question.
I have a 97 Ranger XLT. It came w/o fogs, so I got a new, OEM front valance and brackets, new fogs, the relay and the bezel/switch. Everything works perfectly. However, as wired, the fogs only come on with the low beams.
I want to know how to make the fogs operational either by themselves (independently of parking/low/high beams) or at least when I turn the parking/low/high beams on.
STL has a great thread with photos for the 2001 and +. However that mod is not working for my 97. Any help or pics would be great and thanks.
Dave

Default Re: Fog Light wiring

not an answer to your question, but just as background information...

the reason why the factory fog lights are disabled when the high beams are on is that, in normal use, driving conditions that warrant the use of fog lights are the same conditions that advise against the use of the high beams. (in a moderate to thick fog, using the high beams present the driver with a bright white wall of fog that obscures the vision moreso than just the fog alone would.)
