Go to the junkyard and get a jumper plug from an automatic ranger. Some explorers have them as well. Its a plug/cap that just jumps the pairs of wires. Easy clean install.

Sorry, this is a bit of a bump. I've got a 2005 manual 4.0 and have been trying to diagnose some cruise control issues. The clutch pedal position switch has a connector with 6 ports. I know that ports 3 and 4 are used for the cruise control module (i.e. port 4 comes from the brake pedal on/off switch, and port 3 heads through the firewall to the cc module). Do you know what ports 1, 2, 5, and 6 are for? I've got wires there but I can't tell what's what. I would imagine another pair is used to enable engine ignition when I turn the key to "start."

Thanks for any input you might have.

1 and 2 is for starter circuit and I think 5 and 6 is for the PCM for fuel use strategy.
