Default Battery's fine, engine wont turn

Cheers, '93 v6 ford ranger with about 120k on it just wont get started. Starter's been replaced recently, battery's only about a year old and there were no symptoms prior to my problem. Car drove fine up to my driveway and when I tried to repark for my friend the engine wouldnt turn. Lights go on and door open alert sounds when I open the door but when the keys are placed in the ignition it begins to act like the battery's going, lights dim and the door open sound sputters. Engine lights come on when I turn the key but quickly dim and the car can't find the power to turn the engine and get it started. I'm thinking it's either the ignition or the alternator? Perhaps simply an electrical problem, I'm a bit green when it comes to car repair experience but of course would love to diagnose/fix this on my own before trying to find an honest mechanic in a new city. Thanks

Throw a battery jump box on the battery and try again.
Sounds like a bad battery man... even if its only a year old.
Once you get it cranked, do a parasitic draw test, you may have high resistance in a circuit putting a draw on the battery.
9/10 times a draw comes from the negative and positive cables though.
The copper in them loses its continuity strength over the years.

Your battery is dead. Just jump start it. It happens.

Check your battery connections for cleanliness and tightness, if they check out and starts with a boost check your warranty for your battery. Once it is started check voltage to see if your alternator is working.

check your fuel pump relay. I had the same symptoms on my old '94 I just replaced the relay with one of the other ones (a/c i think) and the truck started right up!

I don't think it's the fuel pump if the engine won't even crank and everything flickers.

id bet its the starter solenoid. on your year truck its located on the fender near the battery. follow the positive battery cable from the battery and find where it connects to the solenoid on the fender. it will look something like the one in the picture below. one way to see if the solenoid it bad is to jump it and to do that you simply put the key in the ignition in the on position and put a screw driver across the two big posts on the solenoid. if the truck turns over and starts then that solenoid it bad.
