I need advice from you electrical gurus out there. I have a 2003 Ranger 3.0 2 door long cab. This truck has electric door locks from the factory. I purchased a wireless door lock setup from Amazon. I am considering taking the lazy mans way out on this. I plan to mount the receiver some where under the dash and running the wires to the door lock switch in the drivers door and using the factory lock motors. My question is am I taking a chance on screwing up a computer or anything else by splicing into the switch wires?
I am new here and really enjoy the forum. You guys are a huge help!!
Many Thanks

Better off picking up the wires in the kick panel rather than chase wires through the door boot grommet and tab into the switch itself.
Pull the Drivers side kick panel, find the harness coming in from the door, roughly about 9" from the floor up and then look for the following wires.
| POWER LOCK|pink / YELLOW |- |driver door harness or PKP
| POWER UNLOCK|pink/lt. green *4 |- |driver door harness or PKP
| LOCK MOTOR|pink/black | |driver door harness
| UNLOCK MOTOR|RED / orange | |driver door harness
