Need help with new wiper motor not working on a 93
I had to replace the wiper motor again that we swapped a couple years ago on our 1993 Ranger 2.3. The previous remanufactured one burned out. I had my friend install the last one. I gave it a shot this time and it took me several months before I actually finished the job since it's not a daily driver. It's used as a yard work truck now. I kept battling with how to get the linkages hooked back up with little to no access to the back of the wiper motor. I tried to take the wiper crank arm off and install and it didn't work. So I gave up many times so that's why it took so long to finish. Today I had some extra time and was able to get it totally installed in about 30 minutes. I didn't have the wiper arms with me and was missing one of the plastic washers under the pivots. However, I wanted to test it to see if they at least work. When I turn on the igniton but don't start the engine I turn on the wiper switch and it doesn't do anything. The only thing it does is make a clicking noise but it sounds like it's under the dash. The washer sprayers work so I don't think it blew a fuse the last time it went out. I tried to tap on the motor body lightly since it's been sitting under the hood uninstalled for about a year. It's a new motor this time, not remanufactured. I didn't have any diagnosis tool with me. Is there anything I can check to see if it's the switch or if it's another bad motor?*
