Default 2009 FX4 Second Fuse Box Location?

Hey all,

I've got a 2009 FX4.

The owner's manual says the fuse box is at the right side of the instrument panel (I can't see it).

Another Web page said it's on the left side of the instrument panel facing the driver door (there's a panel, but nothing under it).

A third Web page says this model has 2 fuse boxes, one under the hood (found it), and the other inside somewhere, but they don't specify. Can someone tell me what the heck is going on? I'd very much appreciate it lol!

Your owner's manual should also have a little diagram pointing out both fuse panels....the underhood one and the in-cab one. The in-cab one is behind a door on the passenger kick panel. Imagine sitting in the passenger seat and if you rotate your right foot outward, you'll kick the panel which covers the fuse box.

Rangers 95-03 have their interior fuse panel on the left side of the dash, again behind a removable door. 03 down and 04 up do have an unlisted in owner's manual relay panel of sorts sort of between the radio and gauge cluster, behind the dash and above the throttle pedal.

Edit: should be page 183 of your owner's manual.

Thanks! I'll take a look in daylight. Oddly enough, the owner's manual doesn't mention the fuse box under the hood, and for the one in the cab, it says it's located to the right of the instrument panel, which is nowhere near the location in your pic. Thanks again; will post when I find it to update this thread.

I actually pulled up the 2009 owner's manual and quoted the page number.

Page 182 to 192 cover the fuse panels. Their including of the words "instrument panel" is definitely miss-leading so I'll give you that. I would have thought literally near the gauge cluster too. It would have been better if they said passenger floor kick panel. Also they call the under hood fuse box a "power distribution box".

That's exactly where the interior fuse panel is; thanks! To add to the confusion, the panel says "FUEL RESET" on it. Talk about a treasure hunt! Thanks again...
