Angry fuel gauge

in my 84 the stock fuel gauge doesn't work so i put an after market gauge in and i went by the book and hooked the wires up. and the aftermarket gauge just bounces around all the time and when i go through a bump it says my tank is full but i know it isn't. so i was wondering if this was a normal problem in the first gen rangers?

Default Re: fuel gauge

i know that alot of early rangers have a problem with the float on the fuel pump leaking and filling up with gas making it not work i know mine did so just get yourself a new float and it should work
