Turn signal flashes with no key in the ignition
Happened to look over at my 04 ranger this afternoon. Noticed a single flash. Thought hmmm, that's weird. Their was just the single flash. This truck hasn't been driven in at least 2 weeks. It's been sitting mostly for several months. Never noticed it before. The keys weren't in it, but the turn signal lever was depressed, and it was the left blinker that flashed. So after watching it for a full minute or so. It flashed again, a single flash just like before. So I flipped the lever up to the right signal position. Then its doing it on the other side. Same way as before, only it's now on the other side. Still no key, and I checked that the ignition was in the locked position.
Don't know why it was parked with the turn signal on. And after checking it, the light seems to only flash when the lever is activated. But I've never seen anything like it before. Since its a seemingly harmless problem, it's certainly not something that I'll spend time, or money to fix. But I'm curious if others have seen this? Is it just my truck, or do all the 04 Rangers do that?
