Default Fast flicking left turn signal

My left turn signal blinks rapidly when I activate it. I checked the fuse and it's okay. I checked the bulb and it's fine too. The right turn signal works fine only problems are with the left turn signal. How do I fix it so it blinks at its normal rate?

I would say replace the turn signal flasher

Directly under your steering wheel under the dash. There will be a blue box. Unplug it and buy a new one. It is right above the OBD11 port

I dont now that will solve it since your right is okay.

This is a shot of one with the "knee" panel removed. Also it has been replaced with a new one.

Try replacing the bulb first. Mine did this a while back and it was my tail light signal bulb. $2 and about a minute later and it was all fixed.

Yeah it always does that when a bulb is burnt. Did you check both bulbs? I meant the front and the back for the high/low?

Not saying you wouldn't have thought about it, just following the checklist

Ya defiantly check the rear bulb also.

I misread your original post. I figured when you checked the bulb you had checked all of them

Quick blinking always meant a bulb out I think they still use ge 1157 double filament.Had my 96 Exp. 12 years and never had a bulb go out(knock on wood)

Something is putting more resistance on that circuit than normal. Kinda like having a trailer and the light harnes is spliced directly into your tail light wires. Check both bulbs first of course. Then start looking for a bad or corroded connection somewhere in the circuit.

my truck did this, left and right, after we installed the body lift. Josh and I looked for a couple hours, and couldn't find anything wrong -- all the bulbs worked, no shorts, no bared wires, all the grounds were in place...

I lived with the fast blinking (turn signals only - the 4-ways flashed normally) for a month or so.

Then, one day while I was outside working and had the radios playing for a while, the battery got low enough to reset my radio/clock. There was just enough juice left to turn the truck over, so it started up. ...then, I noticed my blinkers were now working properly! Apparently, there's something in the GEM (or it's equivalent in newer Rangers) that has to do with the turn signals.

summary: disconnect your battery, wait 10 minutes, then hook it back up. see if that 'fixes' the turn signal issue...

Okay guys I found the problem. Apparently when I went off road a few weeks ago, the LED left rear tail light has a small box that is connected to the tail light kind of like an HID light is connected to a ballast box and fell off. I didn't notice this at all and was wondering why the light was flickering so fast. Due to all that bumping while off road, it disconnected the box from the tail light. I put the old tail lights with the old bulb and the turn signal is back to normal. I need to get a new box to connect to that tail light though.
