Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked before, i've seen a bunch of posts about the flashers dying and the problem being the flasher.

Replaced the blue original flasher with an aftermarket one, and it worked for a short while then burned out overnight one night, I came to the truck in the morning and it stunk like melted plastic and the flasher had melted..

Put another replacement one in and it started smoking immediately so I took it back out.

Can't get my hands on a NOS one from the Ford dealership here, and I can't find anything but the same aftermarket one online.

Any ideas what could be causing them to burn out like that?
