Any Ideas??
Hey guys, jumping over from the Perkins Diesel Ranger page, since I got a general Ranger question.
My batteries stop taking a charge from alternator as soon as I turn on my lights. They drop to exactly 12.5 V whenever I hit the switch, and the light will dim if I let the RPMs down or go into Nuetral. I’m thinking maybe voltage regulator, but I’m on my 3rd one and they seem fine. Could an alternator function only partly, or half-ass rather?? I’ve got an 83 Ranger Diesel with a 2.2 Perkins, old style wiring. Thanks
