I have a 1997 Ranger Extended Cab with 2 Wheel Drive and a 2.3 Liter engine. A few weeks ago my windshield wipers, washer, and dome light stopped working. After doing some homework, I came to the conclusion that the problem was with the GEM. This was confirmed by my local Ford dealership. I have put eyes on my GEM and the part number is F77B-14B205-DA. My current plan is to replace the GEM myself. I am aware that this unit is static sensitive and I will have to strap up to install it. My questions are;

1. The GEMs I have seen on line are all used. I don’t want to do this dance again for a while. Where can I find a new F77B-14B205-DA?

2. Will this unit have to be programmed at the dealership, or will it come with the needed programming already installed?
