I had the switch backlight illumination wired into the orange wire coming off the factory radio harness so it was always lit up even without the headlights on. Yesterday I tried to wire it into the appropriate wire the blue/red on either the radio harness connector or the a/c bulb connector. But something happened and now none of it works. I never did get it to illuminate. I could get the switch to work intermittently by pushing and pulling the fog light switch connector but even it finally quit totally. I checked all connections even hooked the illumination back to the orange radio wire like I had but nothing works. I didn't see the fuses blown. I didn't see any wires disconnected. I did test the relay under the hood with a test light and when I probed the blue wire going into the switch inside the fog lights came on. What does that tell you? I tried two other spare switches I had and it did the same thing, wiggling and pushing the connector into it, would intermittenly work but eventually it wouldn't even do that. Any ideas?

Without disconnecting anything yet..
Go through all of your wires with your prob albeit a test light. Check ground as it sounds as if you grounded a wire that's either not seeing proper or good enough ground and or if it's not a fuse that's blown maybe an in adequate gauge of wire has burned up due to a current draw issue.
Check to make sure each wire and connection as what it is supposed to have at both ends. ground, Ignition/Illumination, and constant power.
