I have a 2001 2wd ranger with the 2.5l inline 4
after I recently replaced the clutch hydraulic master cylinder the speedo has had a mind of its own. when I use the brakes or the turn signals (including the hazards) the speedo jumps or just dips to zero. recently the speedo just dies at random. my theory is that the clutch pedal position sensor or whatever its called is causing this. what do?

make sure the speedometer cable and casing has not been pushed aside or kinked in anyway. Also make sure its hooked up tight on the speedometer. and on cruse control vac tank under the hood if it has cruse control if not the side of the transmission. if this dose not work then you have to grease the cable in the housing

that's odd. the speedo symptoms you mention are exactly what a failing vss will do on the rear differential. i'm pretty sure your 2.5 lima rwd has a vss on the rear diff.
...now what this all has to do with the clutch master cyl, not sure. can't wait to hear back on the solution!
