Default Power window issue 200i8 ranger

First time posting here as I'm really stumped and some help would be greatly appreciatedPassenger side switch will put the window down but not raise it.pulled the motor and actuator and applied 12 volts and it works fine.the drivers side switch will not operate the passenger window at all.does drivers side need a good working passenger side switch to work the passenger side window?does this mean that my switch on the passenger side is toast?is there a way to test the switch?don't want to pay 80 for a switch and find out it's not the problem and I cant return an electrical item.thanks guys

You can take a DVOM or a test light even to test either switch. Obviously its going to have a ground and power side to it but then they are reversing polarity, similar to the 5 wire door locks. If I recall, much like the mustang and other Ford vehicles. Passenger side is the master switch, what i don't recall is why, been awhile.

Usually what you describe is a tired motor. Its got the weight of the window which easily helps it go down the track but no balls to grind it back up.. Thats if the regulator is working as intended. I have seen a window motor drag a regulator down with the glass and literally fold on itself and bend to a then useless point. Then its niether a motor or a switch issue but a regulator [window track or armature]

If it were me, I'd prove out switches first and if estamos bien, then its def the motor being old or used a lot and should be the next logical culprit.
