If fog switch lights up with lights on should indicator dot work too?
I added factory style fog lights to my 98 Ranger using a nice custom built harness by another enthusiast. It all works right except the fog light on indicator dot on the switch. Now that indicator dot did work when we plugged in the fog lamp power wire to the middle relay prong I think it was labeled 87A. But then the fog lights would stay on even with the key out. That was when we were trying to figure out why it wasn't working the way it should. It turned out the scotchlock wire tap wasn't piercing the power wire to the switch. Once we fixed that everything worked as it should except the indicator on light dot doesn't come on. I tried another used switch I had and it didn't work on it either. I looked at the factory diagram and it looks like it's shared with the same wire as the backlit illumination for the switch. Which all works. Any ideas or is likely a bad LED diode?
