Default 2011 no high beams

My 2011 4.0 suddenly has no high beams. When pushing turn signal lever forward, lights go to DRL brightness - no low beams.
When pulling back for flashing of hi beams, low beams just stay on as normal.

I can find some complaints of this on 2010's 2011's on line, but no solutions.

I'm thinking it's something to do with DRL module.

Checked all fuses - none blown.

obvious thought here, did you try different bulbs to see if the bright filament broke

Since they both went out at the same time, have you checked the High Beam relay or fuse? They should have their own circuit separate from the Low beams.

I pulled the high beam fuse (which is fine) and jumpered 12V+ into the downstream side and the hi beams came on perfect!, so the issue is not out front, it is between the multifunction switch and the fuse. I ordered a new MF switch. Truck has on 50K on it so disappointed if the switch is bad. I ordered the cheap chinese switch though so it will be some parts swap troubleshooting.

I also ordered an electrical schem in case it's wiring.

I had a problem like yours and it was the multifunction switch. the internal metal for the switch overheats easily warps burns and fails. Do not use the flash to pass feature unless absolutely necessary.. leads to premature failure. I am on my 3rd switch. would suggest using one from a autowrecker which will be original Ford stuff rather than over the counter Chinese stuff. better quality.

Well, by your example of being on your 3rd switch, one might not see it that way. But I digress, OEM would be better than Chinese

On a side note. Maybe the quality was different back when but my switch is original at 24 yrs old, flash to pass and or back and forth a lot living in no where for the most part and ummm.. well still going strong.

thanks for the flash to pass advise - I did use that a lot and will avoid. The Ford ones last 50,000 miles so we'll see how long the offshore part lasts. It can't be worse. If they all overheat - the ones in the wreckers are going to be garbage. It only took 10 minutes to change it anyways so that's good!
