Default Break lights not working, fixed!

Someone stopped me one day to tell me my break lights were not working. I looked at the fuse and it was blown. So I thought well thats easy. I replaced the fuse and still no break lights. I ended up looking up under the dash at the break light switch and feeling around. I found a broken wire that went into the connector going to the break light switch. This is a pretty heavy wire and I can not figure out how it could have broke, its high enough my feet wouldn't touch it. I took the connector apart and soldered it back together and the break lights are working now.
I wanted to post this in case it happens to someone else. just seems very odd the wire broke.

Unclear if I am more impressed your solution was fixed or that someone actually took the time to be a considerate, caring, and helpful individual by letting you know your brake lights weren't functioning... !
