Electrical Charging Issue, can't figure it out!
Have a 97 ranger with a 4.0 v6. I have no clue why but the previous owner had put a breaker fuse on the wire from the alternator to the starter Selanoid. It is a 220amp breaker and sporadically it will pop open, thus making it so the alternator is not charging the battery. I have tried rewriring the wire with the breaker directly to the battery and it still popped. Also replaced the alternator with a 190amp alternator and that popped it too. My next step is to take out the breaker and see what happens when the truck is put back to the stock wiring. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
