wiper motor issue-high only, no "park"
my '94 ranger has had a issue from the time ive bought it. (got it in july) the wipers will only work on high speed and will not "park", wherever you shut them off in their cycle is where they stop. ive already changed the switch (mainly due to the high/low function for the headlights) and im guessing its the motor, i can hear a click somewhere with engine off if i try to turn wipers on. ive heard there is some sort of wiper module but havent been able to find it. when i went to the junkyard in search of a wiper motor, i couldnt find a ranger older than a '97, my 94 wiper motor has a pigtail harness coming from the motor then a plug, everything i found in the junkyard has just a plug connection on the wiper motor itself....so, is there a way to use the newer motor on the older setup? and is it really a motor problem or this module ive read about here and there? the junkyard wants 20 for a used motor and its about 50 for a new wiper motor (with core) ironically my 97 that rolled had the very same issue, i noticed when i tried to use the multi-function switch from it that it was diffrent also.
