Hello, this is my first time posting so i apologize in advance if I'm not in the right spot. My fuel level sending unit is no longer supplied anywhere. So i done some research and from what i can tell anything from pre 89 will work with my gauge. From what i gather i should be able to use a new unit with the built in pump and just using two of the four pins and plugging the return tube. My main concerns are whether there are any differences in the tanks from 84-88. Also any help with suggestions on a certain unit i should use from a certain year and motor combo would help alot. My idea now is an 88 2.3 unit. Will the work? Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

There seems to be a difference with sending units if you have an extended or standard cab.

If you have the sending unit out, does it look like any of the ones listed on LMC truck?

No not quite. From what i remember out was a relatively straight pick up tube with the plastic barrel float. Would i be right in assuming i should just get a standard cab replacement. If there's no change in the tank for standard cab throughout the years i figure each would work. But you know what they say about assumptions
