Default Odd electrical hum

I have made an observation regarding my 12 volt ports. When ever I have a phone charger adapter plugged in, and under load (Must be under load) I get some weird hum sound. I do have sensitive hearing for electrical current, but I am pretty sure this is loud enough for anyone to hear. I even get this hum when I charge off my stereo as well.

So I am curious if there is a short somewhere? Anyone have any suggestions.
Also every time I steer the truck it adjusts the position on my speakers, I am very sure this is a loose wire in the door. Could these problems be related?

Is the sound coming from the radio?

See I can't quite pinpoint it. I suppose it is possible, however the hum is non existent with just the radio running and listening to music. But the minute a 12volt accessory is added I get the hum.

It sounds like it is coming from the middle console area.

Tell the voices in your head to speak louder and drown out whatever you think you're hearing.

See I am currently using the go to FORD repair... Turn the radio up louder. But the sound of electrical current is annoying. I guess I am the only one with this problem.

Negative...

What you have is a ground loop issue. Your radio/Head unit/deck and your phone/tablet are using two different battery systems with completely isolated grounds. Now a more expensive cable with more shielding may eliminate more of it but because your phone isnt grounded to the same "earthly" plane as your truck and the system in it [regardless of OEM or after market] you may experience this hum.

Similar issues can be had from a bad RCA cable from an amplifier.. then you realize taking a thin wire from the amplifiers ground input to the outer shielding at one of the RCA plugs or both inputs removes the hum.. Same thing here. although I dont know if I would take the time to modify a 3.5mm [1/8" cable] to close that ground loop.

You could try Radio Shacks blue dbl shielded 3.5 to 3.5 jack [Aprox $7.95] or maybe use the bluetooth feature instead. Or go balls out like some of us, rip that dash down and flush a 7" tablet/iPad in there and call it a day :-P

Thanks for the explanation. I may try a higher quality cable then.

Be the least expensive fix.. If it doesnt then we'll help you figure it out further.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007Z7QZPU...a-305850161491

Ussually its $7.99 at RS Electronics and although I seen an ebay ad for $2.94 .... mehhhh I still find it difficult to buy electronics or otherwise from Ebay. Call me a fool but..
