I'm testing the PCM part of things and the color to pin number doesn't match up.

The attached image shows what pin the colored cables are going.

Shelton, let me just say thanks for helping me with this, I really appreciate it.

First, the image of the PCM connector I attached, the red and green connection is wrong (I have found the correct one now lol)

So, I may have found something interesting.

When I tested the resistance between pin 4 (white/light green) I got an infinite reading.

So i tested continuity between pin 4 and the first wiring harness there was a connection.

I then tested the same pin 4 from the first wiring harness to the PCM connection and it was infinite.

Do you think that's the problem?

Let me get back home and I'll look at the diagrams again.

Okay, awesome.

I just wanted to check with you before I remove the wiring harness and start taking it apart.

I really hope this is the issue. Pin 4 (light green and white) no continuity in the second harness.

IF you have infinite continuity along pin 4 of the transceiver to the PCM then that is a problem.

I've had so little time to work on the truck and it's really bothering me. So, sorry for slow progress.

I had some time today to work on it and I really don't know how to proceed. The harness is connected to so many different things and is going to be a challenge to remove. Should I just suck it up and take the time to remove it or should I try and repair it while it's installed?

Any tips or suggestions would be really appreciated

Thanks

A way to test if that wire is broken, pinched, or grounded out is to add a jumper wire from one connector to the other and cut the existing wire (in case it is grounding out).

Could do that just to confirm and then do a more permanent wire afterwards

I'm trying to figure out if my issue is PATS.
I got a no start condition. Both my keys are strat. I've got power to the accessories when I turn the key to on. But when I go to start I got a few clicks from the starter solenoid then nothing and the dashboard lights go out, till I take the key out and try again. At first there was some crazy clicking from under the steering wheel and the fuse box in the cab. There's a medium sized blue relay / module that was making all the noise under the wheel, I think it's from the pats or the park safety switching?

It's been some time since I've worked on the truck. I had some time to work on it today.

I spoke about the infinite continuity, I have discovered today that there is 2 white with light green cables and both actually have continuity

I thought that was the issue. I am back to square one.

I really want to get this truck running.

I'm going to review my old findings. I'm not really sure what my next step is.

Default Re: PROGRESS!!? No crank no start. For PATS sake.

I might have made some progress. What do you all think?

I decided to replace the transceiver. I turned the key to run position and the theft light that usually blinks rapidly, was behaving normally.

I have to program the keys still and that's whats giving me an issue.
Using FORScan, I am able to program the 1st key fine. I just can't program the second one. I might be doing something wrong. Anyone got any experience programming keys using FORScan?

This sounds good right?

You can only have 5 keys total programmed into the truck. If the transceiver already had 4 keys programmed (not unheard of), then one is all you could do. You probably need to CLEAR ALL KEYS and then program your two. I had to do that with my truck this summer. ForScan should show the number of keys programmed when you enter into the PATS programming mode. Also, make sure your keys are STRATTEC brand. I found out that some keys (typically eBay sellers) are not genuine STRATTEC keys and some of those simply don't work. Hope this helps!

I had a similar issue with mine 2002 XLT but I got no clicks when I turned my key. Once I replaced the pcm and pats transceiver and programmed using forscan Iím back running. I was able to program the two original keys doing a erase all first but it didnít seem to work but actually did. Itís confusing I know. I just remember it saying it didnít work and showing no keys programmed but when I tried it the key worked. Also did the same thing with my 2nd key. Good luck!
