Default Multi-light wiring help ("Switch Power")

Hey everyone, new here at FRF, and have a question about finding "switch power" on my 2011 Ranger.

I'm wiring 3 sets of lights for the truck and will be using a fused distribution and ground distribution panel for the lights. The problem I'm having is that I want to use MICTUNING laser rocker switches, which have the option for constant power to display the writing on the switch (i.e. "Fog Lights"). In order for this to not drain the battery over time, I'd like to run these off switched power, and preferably under the hood.

So, from "switched power" to fused distribution, to rocker switch, which will light up when the truck is on, but not when it's off. This will also prevent me from leaving any exterior lights on when I'm away from the truck.

Thanks!

If you are looking for a switched wire to tap for this, I would suggest looking at a wiring diagram. I would also suggest utilizing a relay as whatever switched wire you find for this will not be able to handle the power demanded by three sets of lights.

Jgardiner - I guess my question is - what's a decent location (preferably under the hood) to find switched power. I only want the lights to be able to turn on when the key is on, or in ACC mode. I've seen a bunch of threads where people tap into the fuse box in the cab somehow, but I'm not sure I want to go messing with that component, so I was hoping to find something under the hood, easily accessible.

Thanks!

Oridnary Biker - any thoughts on where I can find a wiring diagram?

Thanks!

If you make an account on Auto Zone's website you can look up just about every wiring diagram.
