Bought my '96 ranger 2.3L a few weeks ago, and it came equipped with an anti-theft ignition device locted below the dash. You have to place a plug into this device (looks like a small plastic lock) to enable the ignition. Take the little lock out, and the red light blinks and the ignition is dead. Keys are non-electronic. Is this a factory device or after market? Anyone know where to get extra plugs?

sounds like aftermarket, I have seen a couple of those installed in subarus, let me see if I can find out some info for you...

Not it. The plug looks like a little black plastic padlock, and says THEFT LOCK on it. Maybe 2" long, with 6 pins inside. The female end is under the dash with the red light.
