Default power windows issue

I know I have been posting a bunch of threads lately, but I have some time off of work and finally want to fix all the little annoying things in the truck.... last thing on my list is the power windows. They don't work at all.... The switches at the door still control the power locks, but neither side will open/close windows. Also, I believe there is a short somewhere because it keeps popping the fuse under the hood every time I start the truck, I went through 4 fuses and realized they pop the second the truck is started and NOT when I press the switch to move the windows... I also checked both switches to make sure all connection were good and they looked good. Any ideas on where I should start looking? Any specific grounds I should check? I'm not the best at figuring out electrical glitches, but I can follow directions pretty well so I'm hoping I can get some help here...

Thanks in advance,
Rafal

The problem maybe nothing more than replacing the switch assembly. Fords ( I have had 5 Crown Vics, 2 Explorers, 2 F-150's...you get the picture) all seem to have that issue. Water drips down, get inside the switch and eventually corrodes the contacts. The last OEM switch I bought from Ford was around $40.00. Start to finish is about 1/2 hour. IIRC, all you need is a phillips head screw driver. Not sure if you have to remove the door panel or not. On my Crown Vic CVPI, I didnt have to. Popped it up, unscrew the 2 screws, remove wiring harness, replace with new one, screw back together and pop back in.
I hope this helps
Dave
