Default OBDII port not communication with emissions test

I have a 1998 Mazda B2500 (same as ranger) with an OBDII port failure from the emissions test. The first thing I checked was the fuse and it was fine, I checked voltage in all of the pins on the DLC and there are no power issues. I replaced the ECM to rule out any communication errors that might be happening there and I still am having a failed communication report. I have run out of options on what to try next??? anyone have any issues or similar problems that they have fixed?????

OK, I found that pin #7 does not have voltage. I tested the wire at the ECM and the voltage was around 5. I'm trying to troubleshoot where the bad wire is but I can't seem to find a wire diagram that will help me find where else the break can be. Is there a place I can find this diagram?

light blue wire with white stripe

I have also taken out the aftermarket radio since I read that this could cause problems.

Since the #7 port is connected to the airbags, I had the PAD light burnt out and soldered a new one on the circuit board. This took care of the airbag light, but I still have no communication with the OBDII connector. Both ground and power pins are perfectly fine. The voltage I read on #7 pin is .04 volts. From what I understand it should be closer to 3.5????

Hope this information helps someone help me????

Once again, here's the place to go.

Go to www.bbbind.com .

Select TSB Database, then Wiring Diagrams. Enter your truck info. From there you can choose what Category you need. It's all there, including wire colors to help you trace problems.

Absolutely all of the diagrams for any of your vehicles are there. Your specific model. Best of all, it's FREE!

My bad choice of words.

I send that link to someone at least every other day. Regulars on here are probably sick of seeing me type it.

Great site though!
