Default fan/heat/ac switch

ok so i have a 1999 ranger xlt single cab with the 2.5 5sp(if it helps im just giving all the details) and i have a problem with my fan switch and also the heat is stuck on so no matter what setting its on it blows hot. and the fan only works at full blast.....what could the problem? wiring? the whole control unit?

The fan would be a separate issue from the heat. There is a resistor in the engine compartment below the fan that is probably bad.

The heat problem is either a vacuum line leak, a stuck valve, or a bad knob. Check the vacuum lines first. Another member posted that his was melted in the engine compartment by the fire wall. He didn't expand on the issue but it might have gotten melted by the EGR line that runs down to the exhaust manifold.
