Default Key reminder beeper

OK for the last year or so when I gt out of my truck it make that damn beeping sound like I left the keys in the truck or left the lights on. A couple of times I have been able to get it to stop by hitting the steering wheel. But it will do it again the next time I get out. I have tried spraying some electrical cleaner in the key hole in the steering column. Anyone have any ideas what else could be causing the beeper to beep?

electrical cleaner will actually enhance the connection in the ignition cylinder and compound the problem

Do you have a 4-door? It may be the door latches and not the ignition.

nope just a 2 door. It started doing it after moving to texas. I dont know if its the humidity maybe, since it never did it in Washington or Montana when I lived there. My co-workers f150 just started doing it now too.
