Default Led lights

I tried replacing the OEM lights with LEDs in my climate control panel but they wouldn't work. I asked the guy at O'Reilly and he said they wasn't working because the LEDs are so low voltage that it doesn't sense there's a light there. Does that make sense?

Nope, I've been running led's in my dash & hvac for over 5 years without issue.

Unless the led's are installed backwards, have bad connections or your dimmer is rolled all the way down, they should work just fine.

Thanks for the info. I was just about to give up but I tried reinstalling one more time and this time it worked.

The LED replacement lights are actually directional in current flow.. much like a diode : )

Yep polarity matters for a lot of LEDS. I ran into the same issue years ago when changing the LEDS in the cluster and not testing before I put everything back together. Then got pissed when one of the bulbs was out only to flip it around and it worked...lol
