Re: Minor 4x4/low range light issue
Update: I have fixed the problem. For future reference this is how the system works: the switch in the transfer case works on a ground system. This means that power must always be at the lights and when the circuit is completed by the switch in the transfer case the light can turn on. A 2 way (2 connections) plug plugs into the top of the tcase, this plug is a short 8" wire the has a circular 4 way plug on the other end of which only 2 plugs are used, this then goes up into the cab of the truck and makes its way to the dash cluster. One wire is for the 4x4 light and the other is for the low ranger light. to test simply put the vehicle in 4lo and check continuity between each wire and a ground. both should read approx 0-1 ohm. set in 4x4 and the one which reads continutity is for the 4x4 light and the one which does not is the low range light. in 2wd or neutral no continuity will be between either plug and a ground.
