Default crank no start.... please help

so. i started my truck went to back up and it died. i thought i dumped it by accident, so i went to start it again but nothing... cranking but no start. thought i might be out of gas so i put about 4 gallons of gas in there...... still no fire. bought some starter fluid for the hell of it and tried that... nothing. although it did try to buck a couple times but then nothing. crank but no fire. so i checked for spark. bought a spark plug plugged it into a wire and.... no spark. so i went and spent $144 on a new ICM..... still no spark or fire.... so now my truck is sitting broken down in a wal-mart parking lot cranking but not firing..... fuel pump is working, so that not the issue. fuel rail has pressure so thats not it.... its a 4 cyl that runs off the 8 plug system so it couldnt possibly be that both coil packs burned out at the same time could it? whats really confusing is that it started and then died.... then tried to start with the starting fluid and then nothing.... i just dont get it... thought or ides? 94 ranger xlt 2.3l 2wd. fuel filter is 5 or 6 months old...... please help this is my only way to and from work.... plus ive got to move in a week.....

Some vehicles have a "fuel shutoff switch" which can be reset. See the Notices ledge in front of the radiator to see if there is a notice to that effect.

By having said it has no spark takes it away from the inertia switch as that controls fuel. The timing belt is also probably not the problem because that also does not control spark

Dalton, when you replaced the ICM did you put all the screws in securely? They are grounds. Truck will not start if some are missing or loose.

As suggested I too would pull timing belt cover back and check it. You also can remove oil cap and see if cam is turning
