Default Dome Light

Send help. Today, driving home, my dome and LED strips decided to stop working when the switch is turned or a door is opened. The LEDs were installed by the previous owner, and pretty crappily too. Any suggestions? (And yes I checked the fuses and all connections I can find)

Great. Trying to fix that, disconnected battery. Reconnected, turned on, and 4wd lights flashing. I'll take
Anything.

Research has been done. Sounds like this is a sort of common problem. I feel a little better, as I discovered that the 4wd switch and the dome light share the same relay. I feel a little better, but any help would still be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to keep updating this if anyone else runs into this problem. Through more research, I've found that I need to check a second fuse in the box under the hood, and that the contacts in the switch may be shot.

But most likely, sense the dome light and LEDs are out, it's a shot relay. Here's to hoping

Maybe start by removing the PO's shitty quality parts and installation, restore it to stock and get it working, then you get the LED's etc and do it right. Nice, clean, sanitary build quality, reliable and safe. At this point, I'd keep my eyes open for other sloppy, unorthodox work done by the PO that is destined to fail and cause problems.

I definitely have had my eyes open, and that's my plan. I've found grounds that he had cut, and he had gone so far as to just use zipties instead of proper brackets for the radiator drop on the body lift. Other examples of shitty PO? Only had two bed bolts in. He sheered the rest. He also had tapped into the radio power wires and had wired A THIRD cigarette lighter behind the dash. When I finally discovered that and pulled it, I found multiple shorts and fixed them. I love this truck but electrically he really f***** it up.

So yeah. When I get home on the sixth, I'm planning on pulled all the LEDs and returning this thing to stock.

I would suggest you check each and every fuse and verify that it is of the correct size.

*People who do stupid things normally don't get better but rather, they just continue doing stupid things.
