Thanks for any help:
I've replaced a sloppy ignition key cylinder because in addition to it being sloppy - I could remove the key without it being in the off position and sometimes wouldn't turn off all the way - when I did turn it to the off position, the engine would keep running. I disconnected both battery cables and it still ran. Finally i pulled 5 of the 6 plug wires and it stopped.
I do have an aftermarket remote start/antitheft system if that makes a difference.

Could it be the ignition switch causing this? Or something else?

Next time pull the fuel pump relay or fuse. Anyway it could've the remote start causing the issue or the switch. I would start with the remote start,
