Exclamation Rear Brake Lights and Turn Signals Not Working, Please Help!

Hey Guys,
So I've got a 2003 Ranger Edge edition, 3.0L V6. Today the brake lights and turn signals stopped responding. The cab brake light still works and responds normally, but the rear ones don't. The headlights work and so do the rear lights but they don't get brighter when the brakes are engaged. In addition the turn signals do not blink. Hazards still work and the turn signal lever will stay down or up, but no sound or blinking arrows or directional lights. Please help, I don't know much about cars, so please keep that in mind. I already checked all the fuses on the interior and under the hood. Thanks for the help, Appreciate it!

Don't know. I've never seen that before. Maybe somebody will chime in on this.

Sounds like a bad MFS switch.

My daughter'S 2010 XL2WD has a similar problem. Her turn signals stopped working. Four way flashers work, running lights work and brake lights work, just nothing from the turn signals. All fuses and relays check out. heyman46 mentioned a bad Multi function switch. Is that located in the steering column as part of the turn signal stalk? Has there been any recalls for this switch that anyone knows of. Thanks in advance for any assistance

I did a quick google search and found this link:

http://repairpal.com/ford-ranger-recall-11v352000

There is a recall issued for the Multi Function Switch. Affected vehicles will be repaired by the dealer at no charge.

The Ford recall number is 11C18.

I'll be telling my daughter to contact her local Ford dealer to arrange a repair.
