Default Rough Idle with P1120 and P0068 codes

I have a 2003 ranger edge w/ a 3.0L V6 engine and 135k miles on it. For the past few months, I've been having an intermittent issue with the engine revving up to 2000-3000 rpm with the vehicle stopped. When I push the clutch in to shift gears, it will also generally rev up another 300-400 rpm before I get in into the next gear.

It has been doing this for about 4 months on and off. Recently, it started doing this all the time, and I also got a CEL last week. The codes are P1120 TP sensor out of range and P0068, TP sensor inconsistent with MAF sensor.

I changed out the TP sensor and drove it around a good bit, but the issue came back within a couple miles, so I ruled out the TP sensor being bad. I then moved on to the MAF sensor and replaced that...which didn't work either. What other issues could be causing the codes besides faulty sensors? The issue is getting progressively worse. Now, at stoplights, the engine quickly revs up to 3000 rpm and I am having to let the clutch out a little bit to keep the RPM down...I'm tired of people thinking I'm trying to race them at stoplights.

Anyone have a similar issue or have these codes pop simultaneously? Any help would be awesome!

Default Re: Rough Idle with P1120 and P0068 codes

My ranger has been reving up when I put it in to neutral coasting in to stops from time to time. As well as reving up a little between gears. Then yesterday the CEL came on and I'm getting the P1120 code. Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

Thanks for any help.

Check the wiring going to the sensors.
