Default DRL's

I moved to the U.S. a year ago and am having a problem with DRL's going on/off/on etc. Since it's not the law here to have them I want to unplug them if possible. I read a couple hundred threads and one said the answer is on here somewhere but I can't find it. Please point me in the right direction.
Thanx in advance.

These threads don't help because they refer to a 2004 or newer truck. Mine is a 2000.
Sorry I should have specified that.

Found this searching google

there is a relay or module behind the drivers side of the front bumper. Above the fog light, closer to the headlight. just remove the wiring harness that goes to the little box and then wrap the end of the harness with plastic and electrical tape. Now you'll be able to drive with just your park lamps on, or park lamps with the fogs.

Maybe your 2000 is similar
