Default Air Bag Question Please help

Hello Guys, im new to this forum and i dont know if this question has been asked already. I searched but i didnt find anything similar. Well, heres the question. I bought a 2003 Ford Ranger with a front end damage. It was not too bad but both airbags deployed. I already bought both Airbags and new module. My question is, just replacing that will make my airbag system work correctly? Is there any risk of the airbags coming off again? Also what makes an airbag activate when you crash? Im afraid they pop out when im driving since it has been crashed already. Thanks for your help and your time.

For 2003 Rangers, the impact sensors and the safing sensor are inside the Restraints Control Module on the trans tunnel. There are no external sensors as used on some other years.

The SRS system is not something that many people like to mess with with or give hard and fast advice on. If screwed up, it can cause serious injury while you're working on it or while you're driving down the road, or cause it to not function in an accident when it should function. This is a significant liability for whoever is working on it or giving you advice.

Bob's information above is sound but beyond that, there is nothing anyone will be able to tell you without proper diagnostic tools.

thanks guys for your answers, well, im really not messing with anything from the SRS. All i want to do is reconnect both aribags and a brand new module. Doing that will make my airbag system work properly? or like i said before, can they activate or pop out will driving?

See my answer above. What you are asking and doing is exactly what and why I said what I said.

The air bags are part of the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System), and FireRanger has some very good points - might be best to take it somewhere to have done if you're not sure.
