Just bought this 2000 Ranger and noticed the left half of the cluster lights were out. Checked fuses (#s 11, 26, & 33), none are blown, all stock amps correct. Thought maybe the bulbs had blown so I replaced all 6, BUT I just tested it before putting the dash back together and the left side is still out!! I did NOT disconnect the wiring on the back of the panel (small woman hands fit back there
) and am wondering is maybe this loose or...?
Also, since I got this Ranger the following lights have been out: 4wd back light knob, climate control back light knobs, head lamp back light knob. The air bag has a Code 27 (blown bulb) that I'm working on next just need to find my soldering gun, but I can't imagine the 27 is related to the cluster being half out.
And I'm taking it to the shop next week because when running it stays at ~4k RPM, even when gunning it up steep hills or coasting on level roads. When I shut the engine off the pin drops to 0 and the engine doesn't sound like it's running that high...
Dome light, head lights, brake lights all work fine.
What the heck is going on with these cluster lights and could the climate, 4wd, and headlight backlit control knobs be related??
Thank you guys in advance!!
