Default not ranger related but need help

so some of you no im driving my stepdads f350 tell i can fix the ranger (bad brakes is wat we are thinking)

so my problem is the parking brake light randomly comes on and i have no clue why. the brake is off fully. when it comes on i pull the lever to release it and then grab the peddle and pull up. it works some times.

any clue of how i can fix this??

96 f350 powerstroke diesel. mods: shift kit, 3" exhaust. not sure wat else is done to it saying its not mine. all i no is its built for towing.

The sensors do go bad on them after awhile, just ignore it and bomb it

check the brake fluid level in the res. under the hood. probably just a low fluid level.

Your ebrake doesn't use your brake fluid....its mechanical not hydraulic

Yes....but alot of Ford's of that era and even of late, if the brake fluid is low in the reservore, it'll trigger a warning light. That warning light is the parking brake light. My ex's 2002 Focus did the same thing....

I'd check out the brake fluid tank...

dude... i get what you're saying.. BUT that same light, believe it or not, serves more than one purpose. its also an indicator of trouble in the braking system.. not just an idiot light for ppl that cant remember to release the parking brake. in this instance, you are wrong.
