pats transceiver ring

i replaced my transceiver ring on my 1999 ford ranger because i broke the original one and my truck still wont start and the theft light is blinking fast as hell when i turn the key to start. i know the basics of the pats system i have been doing a lot of research on it i just cant figure out why it wont start.

The PATS transceiver communicates with the PCM. The transceiver is programmed to match the PCM. I'm guessing you didn't have the computer re-programmed to match the new transceiver, which is why your truck won't start.

When I bought the transceiver ring from the dealership they said I could just plug it in and nothing would have to be reprogrammed because it was just like replacing an antenna.
