Default Condenser?.. Pics and questions

Ok, something we overlooked when we started rebuilding the truck.

Well, we looked, but the way it was sitting and / or the angle we where looking from, did not let us see the extent of the problem.

take a look.. do you see it?

how about now?

not too bad huh?

now thats its out

you can see the damage a bit better

ouch

could not really see how bent it was from the bottom or top until we got it out.

Ok now that we have it out, I have a few questions.

Anyone have a replacement part number for this? Anyone know of an after market part that will fit?

Tricks or things that we need to watch out for or need to be done when we reinstall the new one.

There was something bright GREEN, kind of gluey, that was gooped up near the holes... not sure what is was, antifreeze maybe? It reminded me of that Slime stuff my younger kids play with. Or as my elder son said, it looks like infected snot. He wiped it off before I could get a pic.

Thank you all in advacne for any assistance in this matter.

Dave

I have determined that most mechanical / electrical challanges are directly connected to the nut that connects the steering wheel to the drivers seat.

No idea. we have been working from the back of the truck to the front.

Was actually looking at something else when I took a closer look this morning and this is what we found.

As I said, on the quick tour, we missed it.

That was my first thought, but radiator, frame, etc all look ok so far... almost looks like something hooked it from the back side when someone was moving in reverse.

As with everything else on this truck, I am sure more questions will follow.

That isn't your trans cooler. It is your AC condensor. The trans cooler is actually part of your radiator and the fluid goes through one of the black tanks. You should be able to get the condensor at almost any parts store or online. You can try rockauto.com for a new one or car-part.com for a junkyard used one.

Is it actually coming out of the condenser itself? If it is, I would say that it is probably the oil that is in the A/c system to keep all the internal parts lucubrated or it could be sealant that someone put in to try to fix a leak.
