Default Tranny Question - Truck rolls back when in D, slips 1-2

I have a 2007 Ranger 3.0L Auto Transmission (5r44e)

I have started to notice when on a slight incline (driveway or roads) and I come to a stop, if I take my foot off the brake while in D (gear) to hit the gas, the truck rolls backwards. It also does the same in reverse, the truck will roll forward untill I give it some gas - acts like a standard!

It does this when its hot. When its cold it seems to act normal. Doesnt roll the opposite way as if its in neutral.

When it is doing this sort of stuff and I'm changing from D to R or vise versa (parking) it seems to have a delayed engagement as well.

Are the both issues related? What is the cause for this?

Coupled with the issue above, when its hot, and I have some weight in the truck (3 people and their gear going to a cottage, probably a good 800 lbs with the people) Its very noticeable that the 1-2 upshift seems very soft and long. That its "shifting" for a extra second - some slight vibration is felt and it feels like you are not accelerating at the same rate. Its definately not a postive shift and go. Its drawn out. I'm worried the tranny is starting to fail and I just got it about a month ago.

I'm the 2nd owner, I did a full tranny flush when I got it (mercon V) and filter (original ford part) which did not seem to have any change on the situation. It has 65K on it. I noticed some crushed pepercorn sized metal flakes in the pan. Just dozen or so. But thought that might be normal since it was the first time the fluid had been changed.

Any idea what the issue is here?

Are they all related? How can I get the dealer to accept the fact that its wrong. I am worried that this is going to be a fight with them because the fact that it sorta slips on the 1-2 upshift ony happens when you are accelerating normally (1-2 shift happens around 20-25km/h) and you have a weight in the the truck. Otherwise it still happens, but not as noticable.

Ok. Well not sure what else to say. I'll post up what the dealer tells me. Going in tomorrow morning.

So I took it into the dealer today. Looks like they performed the work required for the TSB relating to "delayed shift engagement" updated the PCM from 52.11 to 53.1, adjusted the bands, reset KAM

As soon as a I drove it out of the dealership and it shifted for the first time, I could tell that it was a lot better. Now I just have to wait for warm weather again or to take it on a long trip with some weight in it to see if it happens again.

It does shift a lot firmer though. Feels better! and it was done under the powertrain warrenty!
