Good to know, I probably would have noticed that, but it might have been at the wrong time lol How much was the powder coating?

Well then I'm getting one and I'll have to powdercoat it if my local powdercoater is that cheap. It'd be sick! I'd probably just go black though lol

what gasket LOL being no one ever stocks rear gaskets. Use Gray RTV its what ford tech service even states when installing covers again..

DONT use black RTV. it isnt a load bearing RTV and sadly even the weight of the fluid will make it seep over time. never had an issues using gray

Hardest part is getting longer bolts. mine came with them tho... stainless and stainless washers i bought today.

take the truck on a couple mile drive to get the diff warm helps drain the fluid. un bolt, take screw driver/gasket scrapper, pop the cover let drain. remove cover. let drain... scrape off the gasket. take brake clean on a rag and clean mounting surface from oil. put Gray RTV bead around the cover edge. reinstall new cover. tighten bolts. move around to the front of the diff. remove fill plug. replace 2.5L of 80w90 also little bottle of limited slip additive if you have one. and your done

Lol do you want a rear gasket? Carquest here has 8, there is one in my cab right now waiting for a fluid change lol I'm using orange rtv, never had problems with it either on rear diffs.
