Hi everyone, my name is Ryan and Im new to this forum, but I come here out of desperation. My daily driver is a 1992 ranger xlt with the 3.0 auto trans. My grandfather owned the truck since new so I know it was taken care of. Besides small things like a water pump, starter, ect. it has been pretty good to me. Anyway the only day I was leaving for class while it was raining and the truck would not start. It would crank and crank and crank but not fire. It has a new battery, starter, and starter solenoid. But after about twenty minutes of cranking it finally sputtered to life. I drove it all of the way down the interstate, no problem. Pull it in front of the garage, turned it off, and it wouldnt restart. I know it has good spark because I replaced the cap, rotor, wires, plug, and coil. So I thought fuel. Had my mechanic put a new fuel pump, and fuel regulator and still same thing. I have about 40 psi at the fuel rail, so i know its getting fuel. The injectors have power because once the truck fires it runs. The only thing I have noticed out of the ordinary is a buzzing/crackling noise out of the fuel and ecm relay. I replaced both of them and they still make the same noise, I even put an extra ground and that didnt help...... so I along with my mechanic are at a loss. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
